Sporting CP have announced the signing of Portuguese midfielder Beatriz Cameir\u00e3o, with the 25-year-old joining the club after terminating her contract with Benfica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cameir\u00e3o has signed a contract with Sporting until 2029 and becomes another experienced addition to the club\u2019s women\u2019s first team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The midfielder arrives with extensive experience in Portuguese women\u2019s football, as well as valuable European experience from her time competing in the UEFA Women\u2019s Champions League.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sporting Add Experienced Portuguese Midfielder<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cameir\u00e3o is primarily a central midfielder and is particularly comfortable playing as a No.8, although she can also operate as a No.6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking to Sporting CP\u2019s official media, the new signing explained that she enjoys the defensive side of the game while also valuing the freedom that playing as a No.8 provides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She described herself as a midfielder who likes to contribute defensively, maintain balance within the team and also attack, arrive in the box and take opportunities to shoot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That versatility could give Sporting additional tactical flexibility in midfield.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Benfica to Sporting<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cameir\u00e3o joins Sporting following her departure from Benfica, where she developed significant experience in the Liga BPI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before her time with Benfica, she also represented SF Damaiense, establishing herself as a familiar name within Portuguese women\u2019s football.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her move to Sporting therefore represents a significant domestic transfer between two of Portugal\u2019s leading women\u2019s football clubs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

European Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the key assets Cameir\u00e3o brings to Sporting is her experience at European level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 25-year-old has already played in the UEFA Women\u2019s Champions League, giving her experience of competing against some of the strongest teams in European women\u2019s football.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cameir\u00e3o was born in Reguengos de Monsaraz and began playing football at Atl\u00e9tico SC, the club from her hometown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Football has been a major part of her life from an early age, having grown up in a family with a strong footballing background.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Away from football, Cameir\u00e3o has also studied Sport Sciences and has a number of musical interests, including playing guitar and saxophone and singing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her sporting education adds another dimension to a player who has already developed considerable experience on the pitch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cameir\u00e3o\u2019s Message to Sporting Fans<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new Sporting midfielder has already called on supporters to get behind the women\u2019s team during the upcoming season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cameir\u00e3o said she wants the team to give everything on the pitch and to represent the Sporting shirt with commitment in every match.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She also expressed her hope of seeing supporters at the Academia, the stadium and wherever the team plays throughout the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
