19-year-old English winger signs long-term deal in Germany

Eintracht Frankfurt have completed the signing of 19-year-old English winger Vivienne Lia from Arsenal Women on a permanent transfer.
The young attacker has signed a contract with the Bundesliga club until 30 June 2030, bringing an end to her time in Arsenal’s academy and giving her a fresh opportunity to establish herself at senior level.
From Arsenal Academy to Germany
Lia joined the Arsenal academy in 2021 and progressed through the club’s youth ranks.
Her development eventually led to a senior debut in the 2024 League Cup quarter-final victory over London City Lionesses.
After signing her first professional contract with Arsenal in 2025, Lia continued her development through loan moves.
However, opportunities in Arsenal’s first team remained limited, with the winger making just two senior appearances for the club.
Loan Experience in England and Sweden
Last season, Lia spent time on loan with Nottingham Forest and Swedish club Hammarby.
Across the two loan spells, she made 24 appearances, gaining valuable senior experience away from Arsenal.
Her time at Hammarby also saw her score her first goal in Sweden.
The experience of playing regular football outside Arsenal’s highly competitive environment has now prepared Lia for the next step of her career.
A Fresh Start at Eintracht Frankfurt
The move to Eintracht Frankfurt represents a significant opportunity for Lia.
Rather than remaining on the fringes of a major club’s first team, the 19-year-old now has the chance to establish herself in Germany and continue her development in the Bundesliga.
Frankfurt have shown their commitment to the youngster by handing her a contract running until 2030.
That long-term agreement suggests the club view Lia as a player with considerable potential.
Lia’s Message
Following the move, Lia expressed her excitement at joining the German club.
“Excited to play for this great club. All glory to God!”
She now begins an entirely new chapter of her career in Germany.

What Vivienne Lia Brings
Lia arrives in Germany as a player still at an early stage of her senior career.
Her time in Arsenal’s academy gave her a strong technical foundation, while her loan spells provided valuable exposure to senior football.
The key now will be turning that experience into regular performances.
At just 19, Lia has plenty of time to develop, and Frankfurt’s long-term commitment could provide the stability needed for her to do exactly that.
Transfer Tribune Verdict
This could be a very important move for Lia’s development.
Leaving Arsenal after limited first-team opportunities is a difficult decision for any young player, but sometimes a fresh environment is exactly what is needed.
Lia has already experienced senior football with Nottingham Forest and Hammarby, and now she gets the chance to build on that experience in Germany.
A contract until 2030 shows that Eintracht Frankfurt clearly believe there is plenty of potential to unlock.
The next step is simple: regular football, development and proving what she can do at senior level.
